I wanted to make a painting that would have a very narrative feel to it. So to better capture that idea, I wrote a short story and painted this to represent one of the pivotal scenes from the tale. You don't really need the manuscript to appreciate the painting. Here the main character is confronted by a monster in an eradiated cavern. I think my use of color helps establish strong mood and atmosphere. The splatter marks I added also add a uniquely beautiful effect. I created it with PAINTER using a wacom tablet.
